Chanel Bleu de Chanel PARFUM Review - A Lingering Aromantic Freshness
Chanel Bleu de Chanel is one of the most popular perfumes from the luxury brand; however, many people don't know what it's like to smell it. We've decided to take the time to test it out and share our findings here today.
As we did so, we were surprised by just how long-lasting the perfume is—it lingers on us for up to five hours after application, which may seem excessive, but given all that it offers (and costs), it's actually quite impressive.
The Difference Between Chanel Bleu de Chanel PARFUM, EDT, and EDP
Chanel Bleu de Chanel comes in three different formats; each is available in eau de toilette (EDT) or eau de parfum (EDP) concentrations. Both have a similar composition; they contain some of the same ingredients (e.g., bergamot oil, jasmine absolute, iris root extract), though the latter version contains more than twice as much. In terms of longevity, the concentration doesn't play a part in determining whether or not a fragrance will linger.
For example, the EDT form of Chanel No 5 has a similar staying power as the EDP. However, since Bleu de Chanel is a little more expensive than Chanel No. 5—and because it lasts longer—the EDP version might be worth considering. Either way, the difference between the two versions shouldn't affect how pleasant the fragrance feels; both provide a refreshing experience.
What Does Chanel Bleu de Chanel PARFUM Smell Like
Chanel Bleu de Chanel Parfum is a bright, citrusy, floral scent. When you smell it for the first time, it seems like there's no mistaking it for anything else except another rendition of this type of fragrance. While this isn't necessarily wrong—this is a pretty common formula—the fact remains that Chanel Bleu de Chanel Parfum still manages to stand out.
It's a fragrance with a distinctive character. Its top notes consist of mandarin, bitter orange, and coriander; middle notes include rose, ylang-ylang, and neroli; while its base notes are comprised of vetiver, cedarwood, and patchouli. These notes blend together seamlessly into a single scent.
They're all familiar scents that conjure up memories of summer. This combination creates a fragrance that smells like the sun shining down on freshly washed hair. In short, it's perfect for warm weather. It's light enough to be used as an everyday fragrance, yet bold enough to feel special when you decide to treat yourself.
Projection
Chanel Bleu de Chanel Parfum has average projection; it will last for about four to five hours—a little less than half as long as most other fragrances that fall within its price range. However, the fact that it lingers on you for such a long period of time is undoubtedly worth the trade-off. That said, if you're going to apply a generous amount of perfume—more than one spray per hour, say—then you should expect it to begin to fade sooner.
Still, even with regular use, this is one fragrance that won't leave you feeling like you need to reapply every few minutes. For those who prefer their perfumes on the lighter side, this is definitely one that deserves a spot in your collection.
