Christian Dior Poison Girl Review - The Poison that Seduces You
Poison Girl by Christian Dior is part of their Fall Winter 2016 collection. Christian Dior is known for their perfumes and cosmetics; however, they have recently branched into scents like this one. There are three different editions of Poison Girl, each with varying prices depending on what you purchase.
What Does Christian Dior Poison Girl Smell Like
This perfume opens up with a burst of fruitiness, followed by a floral note that gives way to something more powdery and dry down the line.
As someone who loves fruity scents, this is right up my alley. The opening is reminiscent of the smell of strawberries and cream, while the heart notes are sweet and almost candied.
The drydown is quite soft and feminine with hints of rose and jasmine. Overall, this is a very pretty scent that isn't overpowering, which some people might find surprising given the name.
The sweetness of this fragrance definitely makes it seem like it would be cloyingly sugary; however, it never comes across that way. The overall effect is rather elegant. One thing to keep in mind about this fragrance is how long it lasts.
Projection
Poison Girl by Christian Dior is fairly strong-willed, lasting for several hours before fading away. This is a common trend among many of the niche brands out there these days—they tend to use higher concentrations of ingredients than mainstream brands in order to give off better longevity and projection.
Even so, it still isn't particularly overwhelming; most people won't even notice you wearing it unless you're standing directly next to them. That said, if you like to stand out, this is definitely the product for you.
When To Wear Christian Dior Poison Girl
This perfume is meant to be worn in the evening or at nighttime. This is because its main notes are sweet fruits such as strawberries and raspberries, which are sweeter at night.
While you may not smell anything special from this perfume during the day, once the sun sets, you'll be glad you chose this one. In fact, it's perfect for a date; just make sure you don't spill any of the liquid onto your clothing since it will stain—which can come across as slightly unromantic.
